Roger Peet

It felt very significant to hold a workshop with Roger Peet @toosphexy at a time when it had been 80 years after Hiroshima and Nagasaki where the atomic bombs had exploded over life on earth. Shedding light on the history of uranium mine workers in Shinkolobwe, the Congo to Hiroshima taught us a different perspective on nuclear power as a colonial project.
The intriguing story of his family’s connection to the Congo and the mines is also staggering.

Due to the temporary closure of I.R.A. At first, we were thinking of other place to do workshop, but we decided to hold a smaller gathering in @ira.tokyo with A3BC and younger artivist friends.

Organising workshop with Roger reminded me that we can always find an alternative and not to give up easily and keep going when facing difficulties.

FACE IT!〜〜🐦‍⬛”
is my favourite @justseeds poster by @toosphexy which was given by Narita-san some years ago!
I thought, this print also resonates with those surviving trees in Hiroshima which Roger has encountered.
