Graphic Liberation!: Perspectives on Image Making and Political Movements

2022年4月28日、コルゲート大学のオンライン講座「Graphic Liberetion!」に木版画コレクティヴA3BCが登壇。A3BCの活動や作品について、ジョシュ・マクフィー（Justseeds）と対話形式でお話しました。

過去回ではアヴラム・フィンケルシュタイン（Silence=Death Project）やエモリー・ダグラス（Black Panther）も登壇しているシリーズ講座の最終回。光栄すぎます。

This conversation with A3BC (Anti-War, Anti-Nuclear, and Arts Blockprinting Collective) took place over zoom on April 27th, 2022. It is part of an ongoing series of conversations Josh MacPhee has been holding with political graphics producers under the title of Graphic Liberation! This conversation was organized with the support of Colgate University.

獨協大学での講義

A3BCは、美術と社会の関係について議論する授業の一環として、独協大学の学生約100名を前に、私たちの活動や理念、手法について話す機会を得ました🌹🏴

A3BC had an opportunity to speak to about a hundred students of Dokkyo university about our activities, ideals and methods as a part of a class discussing relationship of art and society🌹🏴

美しい西会津

美しい西会津で、心温まる週末を過ごしました。
皆さんと集い、時間を共有できる機会をくださった皆様、本当にありがとうございました。
畳の上でDJの音楽が流れる中、木版画制作に励む素晴らしい人々と出会い、最高の時間を過ごしました♪ 会津の職人「Woodbrain」さんの木版制作の様子を見学したり、長野産のクラフトビールや、外でトラックから特別なチャイを振る舞ってくれた方のお茶を飲んだり、ウィルとモモエが作ってくれた素晴らしい料理を楽しんだり、本当に幸運な週末でした。
バーバリアン・ブックスの隅々や、そこに集うコミュニティから、私たちは大きなインスピレーションを受けました。
彼らのクリエイティブなセンスは素晴らしく、DIY精神にあふれています！
強い意志を持ちながらも、とても優しく、環境と調和して暮らしています。
どこにいても、自分らしくありのままの自分でいられる「自律的な空間」を作り出すことは可能なんだな、と私たちに気づかせてくれました。Ⓐ

We spent such a heart warming weekend in beautiful Nishi-Aizu.
Thank you so much everyone for giving us this opportunity to gather and share times with us.
We had such a fantastic time meeting fantastic people doing woodcut printing all together in good vibes added by DJs on the tatami♪ We were lucky to watch Aizu craftsman Woodbrain’s wood block work, drink craft beer from Nagano as well as from a man who made special chai on a truck outside, and enjoy the fantastic food cooked by Will and Momoe.
We were totally inspired by every corner of Barbarian Books and their community.
Their creative sense is amazing and full of DIY spirit!
They have a strong will, but are very gentle and live in harmony with the environment.
They made us think that wherever you are, it is possible to create an autonomous zone and be as you are. Ⓐ
